There are students at ECC that drive many miles to school and use gas on a weekly basis. I myself drive consistently to cover stories for my job or to hang out.
This college at ECC is a commuter campus, people make sacrifices to come the college. ECC’s student population is made up primarly of part time students and a mix of full time students. For some it’s the only college with their degree plan that’s affordable. These students travel back and forth between the college on a weekly basis, their mileage just depends on where they’re coming from.
Gas prices need to go down. It’s plain and simple because right now gas is becoming close to four dollars per gallon in Missouri. This is Missouri, we’re known for our cheap gas and low cost of living. What is the hold up Mr. Governor? When are we going to get relief.
I mean talk about a great location if gas prices were what they were in Feburary.
ECC is right off US Highway 50 and intersects with Highway 47 and I-44. There are students that come from Sullivan, Cuba, Owensville, Gerald, Beaufort, Silex and St. Louis by car. That is a lot of gas mileage a week.
Don’t make trips if you don’t have to ECC Students.
