Where are the fans?
There right here! Celebrating with a high five after the second home run of the night was hit. As you can see the seats are packed and everyone in the stadium has Cardinal spirit.
Many of the fans were at the September 28th, 2021 game, 35,726 to be exact. The amount of fans at this point will not help the average attendance for the 2021 season. For reference, the attendance back in 2019 was 42,967. In 2020, at the start of Covid, that count dropped dramatically to 13,500. Today it’s growing again but nowhere near what it used to be.
One thing that remains no matter how many fans are at Busch Stadium is that they’ve got spirit. I’m sure many of you have been to one or two baseball games at Busch Stadium. You’ve done the wave or shouted charge at the top of your lungs.
Many things at Busch Stadium have gone back to normal. There are no masks, except for in certain areas, and no sitting one chair away from anyone else.
