Part of the ECC Arts and Humanities Department (English, Communications, Spanish) hosted the first-ever Humanities Fest at East Central College. Poetry Troupe Poetry Alive! performed and held workshops for students and faculty, there was a speech contest, Spanish writing contest, and the winners from the English Department’s spring Poetry and Research Writing Contest were announced. English instructors Josh Stroup and Patsy Watts organized the event, which was funded with a Mini-Grant from the ECC Foundation. Communications instructor Shanee Haynes, Spanish instructor Ellen Aramburu, and Arts and Humanities Division Chair Tim Sexton were instrumental in planning and hosting. Pauseable Moments Photo Booth was also there to capture the day.
